If you are in the U.S. and west of the Mississippi, you might be able to see it with a telescope of at least 10" of aperture. NASA TV will be doing a live feed and most certainly have video clips after the event.
As for size of the debris cloud after the impact, its going to be be small, maybe 20 – 30 miles on a side (don't forget, the moon is about 250,000 miles away). The crater it'll impact is something like 50 miles in diameter, but since its near the moon's south pole, its profile is going to be foreshortened.

Well, it depends on what you want to observe. For planets they say the best ones are the refractors, for deep space the reflectors like yours. But that's not absolute because for the same money you can buy reflectors with bigger apertures so you can observe anything you want, including planets, that is!
I believe you bought a 4.5-inch reflector according to your description. I would consider your telescope a beginner's telescope, which is fine for your level. It's certainly not a toy (like my telescope is!) and you can do work with it if someone could help you.
Whenever you're ready for the next step, you should try a bigger aperture if possible although you should keep in mine you might loose part of the portability your current telescope is offering you.

I wish that uh T4 was this good or at least A. didn’t use cgi and/or B. followed the progress of the terminators instead of instantly jumping from the rubber skinned ones to Markus aka the more advanced one. I mean I thought T4 was alright and it had the potential to be great but i think it failed partly due to casting christen bale as john. (but thats just me)

I think they should have stopped at 2. If they make more and more, you just ruin it all and its just the same events recurring movie after movie just using different people and places.
