When choosing a telescope eyepiece, remember that more space between the eye and the lens allows for more adjustment possibilities. Compare different styles of eyepieces for telescopes with the sho...

I am planning on getting a meade lightbridge 8 inch truss tube dobsonian as my first telescope after reading a couple books and feild guides on outer space. The telescope i want has the eyepiece allready angled to the left and i dont know how a diagnol would work. are there straight adapters for 2 in. eyepieces? Thx and also please give me ideas on hot to get a 2 inch on! thx guys!
i have 2 question, like chris i wonder if i can us a diagnol on a refractor, and can you tell me whether the vixen 3856 (3.5) eyepiece is a good choice for getting better views of saturn and the moon(havent found any other planets yet)
IS that a Swan 2″ eyepiece?the black one?
You know ur stuff dude i wish i was near your shop, i am in the market for a scope but dont know what type to get..i am an astronomy noob ;-D
How much do you have and what do you want to do with your scope?i.e astrophotography…
me too, all i got is a 20x to 30x by 50x monocular. one of by friends has a telescope that just sits there and I’m gonna see if i can buy it off him. and he also probably doesn’t know a good price on a telescope so i could probably scrap it for 20 bucks.
yup..hahaha
can you use a diagonal on a reflector?
I don’t see why not, but it seems to me that it would make it difficult to look into.
i have the same quesion, i have a celestron nexstar 130, bought the 2inch acc. kit, and it has a diagnol, but it doesnt fit right
Are you prone to impulse beauty buying?
It varies greatly depending upon the size and focal length of the respective lens. I cite a reference table below which has a table of a variety of Super wide and Ultra wide eyepieces and their respective field stop diameters:
These by the way are for the older series 4000 eyepieces, I imagine the 5000's are different.

Does this have to be done on Veteran to get the achievement?
Telescopes generally fall into three catagories. Refractors, reflectors, and catadioptrics.
Refractors use lenses. Lenses work by collecting "bending" light by a phenomena called refraction. Reflectors, on the other hand, have an open front with a small mirror mounted near the front in the middle of the tube, and a large mirror mounted in the back. The large mirror in the back collects the light and focuses it to the secondary mirror up front, which bounces it into the eyepiece.
Catadioptrics, light schmidt cassagrains, have generally short tubes, a large mirror in the back, and a glass plate up front with a round area in the middle, which is where the secondary mirror is mounted. They work in a similar fashion to reflectors but the specifics are a little different.
For any telescope, the operating principals are generally the same.
1. Take the cover off.
2. Put in the lowest powered eyepiece…this is your 25mm one.
3. Point the telescope at a ground based object in the distance.
4. Looking through the view finder, adjust it using the adjustment screws on it's bracket to get it to be pointing at the same object you see in the eyepiece.
5. Put in a higher powered eyepiece and repeat.
6.Put the lowest powered eyepiece back in.
Once you've aligned the viewfinder properly you can try pointing the telescope at something inthe sky. I'd start with the moon, and then try a bright planet like Mars.
How to tell eyepiece strengths. Eyepieces are listed by their focal lengths. The largest number is the lowest power, and should be the eyepiece which you will get more use out of. The higher powered eyepiece you use, the more difficult it will be to get a good image because you magnify the atmosphere more, you approach the limits of the physical capabilities of your telescope's optics, and the motion of the Earth becomes far more apparent, making it difficult to keep things in your field of view long enough. They are also generally not very comfortable to look through.

Shah this URL Physical Research Laboratory’s (PRL) Optical Polarimeter has been used on various telescopes in India since its development in-house in the mid 1980s. To make the instrument more efficient and effective we have designed the acquisition and control system and written the software to run on the GNU/Linux Operating System. CCD cameras have been used, in place of eyepieces, which allow to observe fainter sources with smaller apertures. The use of smaller apertures provides dramatic gains in the signal-to-noise ratio. The polarimeter is now fully automated resulting in increased efficiency. With the advantage of networking being built-in at the operating system level in GNU/Linux, this instrument can now be controlled from anywhere on the PRL local area network which means that the observer can be stationed in Ahmedabad / Thaltej as well or via ssh anywhere on the…

Just write it and post it on Gamefaqs.com, THE website for game guides.
I have like over 50 guides there. Yes, all written by me.
One of those presenting today was Blaise Aguera y Arcas, our Bing Maps architect. Blaise showed how the Bing team is bringing Flickr photos, live video, and even a view of the stars offered by Microsoft’s WorldWide Telescope to Bing Maps. Imagine looking up a location on Bing Maps, and seeing not just the Streetside view from our own cameras but also photos from Flickr of the same location, and historical images, seamlessly woven into the Streetside view with the help of Microsoft Photosynth technology.
if you're going to buy it from online, i wouldn't recommend ebay. other than that, make sure you have all the guarantees, warranties, shipping insurance, etc. and that the seller has a good credit/feedback. when in doubt, don't buy it.
they have the right to adjust the prices before an order is placed and confirmed and paid for. But if they have coding that consistently checks which items have been added to shopping carts and selectively increase their prices then that is foul

Wider field of view in some telescopes as Geoff said.
I own a 30mm and a 40mm 2 inch that I use for objects like M45 and other open star clusters.

contact your county treasurers office, you should be able to get an assessment before you sign the papers, it's called a property assessment, the seller should be the one to arrange it. Also property in the surrounding area also determines what your property will be worth.

I have also been in TERRIBLE broken relationships in the past, and they obviously do have an impact on the relationship that you are in now. Naturally you will be damaged and will have issues. If your boyfriend knew about your past bad relationships, he knew the issues he would be facing in dating you. He was prepared for this. He probably gets angry at you and fights with you sometimes because he does feel a bit stressed, maybe he sees that you are still hurt from your damages from past relationships, and does not know how to make it right. He wants to be your saviour, and he doesnt know how to make you feel better and this makes him feel frustrated and angry. This is only one thought. On the other hand, he could just fight with you because you guys are having a normal arguement. All relationships have fights and arguements, its healthy and it shows you have open communcation. When you guys argue you can't project your past issues onto your new boyfriend. He is allowed to get angry with you sometimes, he doesn't have to be perfect all the time. Remember, he is a DIFFERENT man to the other bad ones. Give him a chance. If he upsets you, talk honestly to him. Don't blame him ~ just say to him, "baby when you do…A, B and C, it makes me feel sad." Open lines of communication are important.
Don't be so clingy to him and rely on him for your complete happiness. If he didn't want to be with you, he wouldn't. I am sure he WANTS to give you a happy home and the family love that you never had. He is under no obligation, he is human, if he did not love you he would leave you, its as simple as that.
Also, if he makes you feel unhappy, if he makes you feel like he is only with you because he feels obliged to "fix" you and love you, then maybe you should not be together. You also need to consider whether you are a whole, complete and healed person who is READY for a relationship. Perhaps you need some counseling, perhaps you just need some time alone "finding" yourself and getting to know and love who YOU are, without relying on anyone else for your happiness. The second you start needing someone to complete or repair you, you drain the life out of them, you make them feel suffocated. Build your own interests, think before you talk. Fight fairly, communicate clearly. Don't punish him for the hurt that other men have caused you.
