You are doing fine. I would use the Clorox wipes on the kitchen counters after every meal and anytime you have raw meat on them. Other than that, you are doing fine! I actually vacuum more often. They say to keep your carpets in best condition, you should vacuum once a week per person. If there are 3 in the house, vacuum 3 times a week and so on up to once a day for 7 or more in the house. I clean my kitchen sink once a week and more often when I have raw meat, like a turkey or chicken, that I rinse before cooking. You have a good balance!
steam cleaning is actually not steam, but hot water extraction, and is the best cleaning system for heavily soiled carpets. Make sure the company you choose uses a truck mounted machine, not a portable machine. Your carpets will be left a lot dryer due to the higher powered suction they use.

Use rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Replace the screen and don't get the alcohol on the bowl unless it is glass too.
Make sure all the alcohol is rinsed out and dry before adding fire or heat.
