Of all of the books listed below there is one that I turn to regularly–at least weekly–and that’s Matt Lee and Ted Lee’s The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook. I became friends with Matt and Ted after their book came out in 2006 but I promise this selection doesn’t stem from any personal bias. And I’m not the only one who just loves this book–it won top honors at both the James Beard and IACP awards.

I was an unlikely choice to review Mass Effect 2.
Unlike most of the Joystiq staff, I wasn’t in love with the first entry in the series. Oh, I could see the promise, but I had a hard time getting past the clunky combat, the terrible vehicle sequences and a damnably irksome inventory system. But in a weird way, I was the very best person to review the sequel, because BioWare has gutted the original framework, doing away with everything that didn’t work and replacing it with something vibrant, something engaging. All the while, the developers have expanded on the sweeping yet personal scope of the first game that made such an impression on so many.
The resulting concoction is the best game BioWare has ever made and the best action RPG in history.

is this game out in english or only in jap?
The altitude does mean there is a little less atmosphere to look thru but other factors include light pollution and air pollution, especially particlulates that block and scatter light, and just the variation in the atmosphere. The density of our air does vary due to temperature and humidity so the atmosphere acts as a lens (this is where refraction enters the equation).
They have developed technology that "corrects" the telescope optics for variations created by the atmosphere. This correction is not 100% effective (it helps dramatically but…) so there is still significant advantages for putting a telescope in space. In space, you can observe day and night, there is very little dust that will collect on the mirror (as there is on earth), there is no air pollution, there is no light pollution (except from the sun, distant stars, and black holes which happen to be between you and what you want to look at), and there is no atmosphere to act as a lens.
One note, the Hubble does not look upon us. The Hubble is designed for looking at things a lot farther away than earth. I don't think the Hubble's manuvering thrusters could keep the Hubble pointed at a single spot on earth long enough to get a good picture.
Hope this helps
Don't buy this finder! One came on my Celestron NexStar 6SE, and it is a total piece of junk. The red dot is too bright so that it blocks the view of the stars, and the whole thing is really cheaply made. I was at a star party where four people had these, and mine was the only one that was working.
Buy a Rigel QuikFinder instead. These are well made, easy to use, and really do fit on any telescope:

never heard of a honda 125 two stroke having a battery. Change the plug, drain the gas and put fresh gas in it. add some lucas gas treatment to it than kick away. if you let your bike sit for long periods ot time put some gas treatment in the tank to keep the gas from gumming up.

Wow, did NIN rip this guy off or what? ^_^
Rather than get one big mirror today, scientists are using "arrays" of numerous mirrors to have a combined light collection ability equal to that of a mirror far larger than can be constructed as a single unit.
These mirrors have their images combined by computer and present an image equal to what the Hubble space scope can provide, especially when provided with "adaptive optics" which removes atmosphere anomalies from the image.
love the vid setup

You multiply each magnification to get the total magnification:
10x *10x = 100x
It doesn't. It is the rotation of the Earth that causes objects to appear to move out of the field of view of telescopes. It would depend on the size of your eyepiece and it's field of view plus the size of the object being viewed to judge how long you can view something.
40mm wide field eyepiece on the Andromeda galaxy would last longer than any one star with a 4.5mm plossil eyepiece.
it’s definately not as fun as doing the real thing (if you know what i mean)

Lower numbers give higher magnification.
For decades astronomers have used the Astronomical Magnitude Scale to measure the brightness of stars. But what if they’re measuring with an inaccurate ruler? And how could that screw up the quest to understand dark energy? The Astronomical Magnitude Scale (see bottom of post) is a logarithmic scale used to measure the brightness of stars as seen from earth. The sun, our nearest star, is set at a value of roughly -27, but humans anywhere on earth can comfortably see all the way down to a value of zero. For values of +1 to +7, an observer would have to be in the country, away from light pollution. Trying to see anything brighter than +7 would mean breaking out the telescopes. Scientists measure the brightness of astronomical objects by comparing the object’s brightness to the brightness of reference stars. Vega and Sirius are popular references, since they have defined and well-known magnitudes. Or do they? Despite the many advances in the practice, focus, and breadth of knowledge of…
Hi. One is based on a mirror or two, the other bends light through a lens.
Don't waste money buying eyepieces for this piece of junk masquerading as a telescope. Buy a good pair of binoculars instead.
Tmax film sucks. Go with a regular processing 120 like Plus-x or Ilford for the 120. This is where I get my BW film at.
Fact is I just got an order from them for film developer, paper developer and two boxes of 4×5 sheet film.
Color – I pretty much like Provia. Fact is I like most other films than Kodak.
To do your own developing and printing can be reasonable if you find the right deal.
You will need:
developing tanks and reels
Photo Enlarger
paper easel
safelight
trays
chemicals
timer
misc other stuff.
I bought a full set of supplies like this off of Craigslist for $60.
This is to do BW. Color is more complicated and is more cost effective to have a regular lab process it.
Getting photos printed with the spoket holes is tougher for a lab to do and is easier if you do it in your own darkroom. You wouold have to use a 120 negative carrier rather than a 35mm one.

This applies to the US; other countries may be different.
A series is a program. "Prison Break" is the name of a series. A series is divided into multiple seasons. For most network programs, a season is 22-25 episodes. Cable series tend to have seasons of 11-12 episodes. If a series is a mid-season replacement it may have only 13 or so episodes for the first season.
When a new season starts, it's season Y, episode X. For example, Lost just aired season 5 episode 9.

“The vast nebula NGC 604 above in the Triangulum galaxy is a Hubble Space Telescope image. Though such nebulae are common in galaxies, this one is nearly 1,500 light-years across -so vast it is easily seen in ground-based telescopes.
