why not ask whoever you bought it from?
Vivitar appears to be quite the stealth company. They were acquired by Sakar International. But Sakar doesn’t seem to have anything on Vivitar either. If this was acquired through Amazon, for example, then Amazon has a way for you to get back to the vendor.
This scope claims 50x and 100x. But it’s likely 50 mm or 60 mm. 50x is pushing it. On my 60 mm scope, i much prefer 22x magnification. And 22x is approximately how much more i spent on it than this Vivitar.
At least it was cheap.
Vivitar used to be quite a reputable importer of cameras and lenses. This telescope is, I’m sorry to say, a piece of junk. I doubt whether parts would be available for it.
I must say that I’m surprised that you would let your grandson assemble it without supervision. I certainly would hope that you would supervise him using it, since it could easily blind him for life if he tries to look at the Sun with it.
