It is the magnification of the eyepiece and that of the objective lens that give the microscope its over all total magnification. For example, if your microscope has an over all magnification of 1200X, this is the product of 120 power (120 X) objective lens multiplied by a 10 power (10X) eyepiece.
Thus, magnification is: objective len's power X eyepiece power.

Could it be revenge for being demoted to “dwarf planet” status in 2006? New Hubble Space Telescope photos show that Pluto has turned redder–as if it were angry–and its ice sheets are also shifting around.
Meade makes a similar series of scopes.

If you could add details such as the diameter of the mirror or lens of the telescope itself, as well as the telescope's focal length, it would be helpful. Or simply the telescope model name and number will do.

The worst ideas ideas in history have always been thought up with the highest intentions. In an age where we want our children to play sports and not video games, read books instead of tv, we are going to steal the enjoyment and wonder of the night sky from them too. So much to be learned and so few to teach it…
How much did you pay for these?
They are made by the same company (GSO, I think). The major difference, besides cosmetics and branding is the ocular stop. I have a 9mm XCel, which I rarely use. The field of view is narrow and dim, which would be common for this type of eyepiece. Don't think I've ever used an Epic, so I can't give a fair comparision.

ok, you could have asked this in the astronomy & space forum too – but it's ok in Physics…
The magnification of a telescope is given by
M = -Focal_length_of_scope / Focal_length_of_eyepiece. So we can rearrange this to be
-M*5mm = Focal_length_of_scope = 225*5 mm = 1125mm
To work out the total length of the scope remember that the focal lengths of the eyepiece and scope are added together – so you could expect it to be about 1130mm long.

By “Pluto is covered in shit like an atmosphere”, do you like how the Gas Giants like Jupiter and Saturn Uranus and Neptune are covered in a gas atmosphere? Or do you mean that the dwarf planet is so far that it’s appearance is being obstructed by space dust and gases?
Wow!
Depends on what you want. They are excellent but being SCTs they are not good for beginners as they are all f10 giving very high magnification – so it's harder for you to star hop. Also not the best for astrophotography as they are fork mounted. Their best feature is that the tubes are small for their aperture & they have goto. If you don't want goto or tracking get a dob instead. If you need them I would go for Celestron Advanced series – cheaper + can be used for astrophotos with no field rotation. SkyWatcher & Orion have nice stuff too.
